Be prepared for your best High School fencing season ever!

High School Fencing Classes for male and female athletes participating in NJSIAA high school programs (i.e. Ramapo, Northern Highlands, Don Bosco, Fair Lawn, Indian Hills, Academy of the Holy Angels, Montclair, Kent Place etc.) Our classes are tailored to fit into your busy high school fencing schedule.

High School Beginners (no experience) who want to try-out for their team should join our Intro Course to learn all the basics! Equipment is provided for the Intro Course: Link Here 6-week Intro Course. After completing the Intro Course, new students can join the regular Classes.

  • Boys and girls high school sabre encers who want to start on their NJ High School team.

  • Co-ed Fencers who compete or plan to compete in NJSIAA fencing teams

  • Girls and Boys who want to experience High School sabre fencing format (Meets and tournaments)

  • Fencers who need flexible schedule so they can attend Boys/Girls High School practice and meets.

Durkan Fencing Academy High School Sabre Fencers representing their High Schools while Competing at the NJSIAA Cetrulo Tournament.

Current High School Sabre Fencers:

  • Class Schedule: Sundays 11am to 1pm or Wednesdays 6pm to 8pm

  • Length: 2 hour classes

  • Class Format: Foot-work, drills and bouting practice with other competitive high school fencers

  • Drop-in Open Bouting Sessions on THURSDAYS ($40 pre-paid on ASKFRED or $50 at the door)

  • Check our schedule for special Camps available during school breaks!

What You’ll Learn:

High School competitive Practices will:

  • Offer fencing footwork and bladework drills

  • Teach Best offensive and defensive actions for high school fencing competitions

  • Focus on high school fencing (five touch bouts)

  • Include important information on high school tournaments and meets
