The Epee Fencing Program

The purpose of the Durkan Fencing Program is to provide a unified method fencing instruction to all athletes that will result in general athletic development (i.e. coordination, balance, agility, speed and general fitness) and promote the mastery of fencing specific skills (i.e. lunge, parry or toe-touch) with a deep understanding of the techniques and tactics required to score more points and win more fencing bouts.

Fees

For those of you who are new to fencing, we encourage you to visit other fencing clubs and compare facilities before you join. All fencing clubs in New Jersey charge a yearly membership fee to cover the costs of maintaining a safe and functional fencing room. We strive to provide the best fencing facility in the country. Not only does our fencing room have the most regulation size fencing strips it is also fully air-conditioned and professionally cleaned regularly. We also provide amenities to our members such as: two comfortable lounge areas, locker rooms, Wi-Fi, a water fountain with bottle filler and coffee for parents.  The required yearly membership fee of $699 allows us to maintain the club for all of our members.

Epee Classes -   Members $325 per Month;  Non-Members $425 per Month;

Private Lessons (Class Participants Only) available for $400 for 10 lessons

Yeisser Ramirez

Yeisser Ramirez is a former Cuban and US National Team Member. He was a member of the Cuban National team from 2002 to 2006, when he became a US Citizen. As a World Class athlete, his results include a North American Cup Gold Medal in Division I Men's Epee, a Individual National Championship Gold Medal in Men's Epee and a Team National Championship Gold Medal in Men's Epee. While representing Team USA, Yeisser also won Gold at the Sofia Bulgaria Satellite World Cup Tournament and Team Gold Medal at Pan American Championships.

Yeisser started coaching in 2008 and has experience with all levels of athletes. His passion for fencing is passed onto his students everyday.

Jackson Huemer

Jackson Huemer is a former NCAA fencer for Drew University and is currently an A-rated Epee Fencer. Coach Jackson has years of experience as both a club coach and as a High School coach at Livingston High School. He is also an experienced three-weapon USA Fencing referee.

Huemer is currently the head coach of Livingston High School. His interests also include fencing photography (check out jhuemerphotography on instagram!)
